Food shapes the whole experience at Cedar Ridge House
Dinner
Modern Australian plates with a rustic Spanish streak.
Dinner in The Salon is one of the highlights of a Cedar Ridge House stay, served inside what we’d confidently call Port Fairy’s finest dining room. Seats are limited, so bookings are a must.
Evenings usually kick off in the lounge, where our team is on hand from 6pm pouring a well-considered line-up of aperitifs, cocktails and local wines, alongside a few pre-dinner snacks worth lingering over.
Our à la carte dinner menu draws on favourites picked up over years of travel, each one tested and refined before it earns a spot on the table.
Backing it all up is a wine list that reads like a tour through western Victoria’s cellar doors, with plenty of options available by the glass.
Dinner service typically runs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, though this can shift depending on demand.
Breakfast
Breakfast is a genuine highlight for our guests, and it’s always bundled into the room rate.
The a-la-carte menu heroes ultra-local produce and goes way beyond the typical hotel offering of stale croissants and bad coffee. We source ingredients from small, artisan producers with a focus on organic and sustainable farming. All backed up with great coffee from Market Lane and a range of beautiful teas from Love Tea.
The Salon
The Salon is our purpose-built garden pavilion, home to a thoughtfully designed dining and lounge area best thought of as the Cedar Ridge House clubroom — open all day, exclusively for house guests. Picture Frank Lloyd-Wright, Issey Miyake and the Dalai Lama collaborating on a shared lounge space, and you’re somewhere in the neighbourhood of the Salon.
